Artificial intelligence becomes valuable when people can apply it confidently to their real work. In a practical Bonhams Lunch & Learn, 黃啟亮博士 worked with more than 30 professionals from the auction industry on everyday AI applications and responsible use.
The programme combined two closely connected topics: Getting Started with AI in Your Work and AI Security Essentials. In under two hours, participants explored how generative AI could support different roles without losing sight of confidentiality, accuracy and human judgement.

ToggleAI applications grounded in auction-industry workflows
Instead of presenting generic prompts, the session connected tools such as Poe and Microsoft Copilot with situations relevant to an international auction business. Examples covered:
- Developing and refining catalogue and client-facing content
- Supporting shipping, coordination and administrative workflows
- Preparing ideas and materials for auction events
- Improving client-service communication
- Summarising information and organising knowledge more efficiently
- Recognising information-security and responsible-use risks
This industry-specific approach helped participants evaluate not only what AI could produce, but when its output should be checked, refined or rejected.
Practical adoption, not tool demonstrations
Corporate AI training is most effective when it reflects how participants actually work. The workshop therefore focused on realistic use cases, simple adoption steps and the questions employees should ask before relying on an AI-generated result.
Participant feedback highlighted the practical nature of the session, its real-world applications and its potential to support immediate improvements at work. These responses reflect Dr Wong’s broader training philosophy: technology should make work clearer and more effective, while people remain responsible for context, judgement and quality.
